Choose Seeds

The vegetable seeds collection includes familiar home-garden vegetables for different seasons. Leafy vegetables and herbs fit easily into smaller spaces, while tomatoes, brinjals, chillies, gourds, cucumbers and melons benefit from larger pots, grow bags or open beds.

For colour, the flower seeds collection covers compact flowers for pots, taller varieties for borders and climbing flowers for vertical spaces. Separate summer and winter collections help gardeners select flowers suited to the current weather.

The herb seeds collection includes everyday kitchen herbs as well as aromatic varieties for pots and garden borders. Many herbs can be harvested a little at a time, making them useful for balconies and small home gardens.

Tree and fruit seeds suit longer gardening projects. Tree seedlings can begin in pots before moving to a permanent position with enough room for their mature roots and branches.

Microgreen seeds are packed for growing young edible greens in trays. They suit gardeners who want a small indoor or balcony setup with regular sowings.

Seed Types

Desi seeds include familiar varieties commonly grown for household cooking and traditional dishes. They are available for vegetables such as coriander, spinach, radish, carrot, gourds and okra.

Hybrid seeds are selected for defined characteristics that may include consistent fruit shape, plant growth, maturity or colour. The collection includes hybrid vegetables and selected flower varieties.

Open-pollinated seeds include varieties that are naturally pollinated. Gardeners interested in maintaining a variety over future seasons may collect mature seeds from healthy open-pollinated plants.

Seasonal Choice

For Lahore, Faisalabad, Islamabad and Rawalpindi, cool-season vegetables and flowers are generally started from September to November. Warm-season vegetables and flowers can be started from February to April, with some varieties offering another sowing period as the strongest summer heat begins easing.

Karachi has a longer mild season. Cool-season vegetables and flowers can usually be started from October into December, while many warm-season varieties can be sown from January to March and again from August to October.

In southern Punjab and other very hot areas, early spring and late summer sowings help young warm-season plants establish in milder temperatures. Cool-season sowing can begin as autumn temperatures fall.

In colder northern and hilly areas, cool-season plants are commonly started during autumn, while warm-season seeds are sown from March to April after the risk of hard frost has passed.

Each variety has its own preferred temperature and sowing window. The individual product description provides guidance for that particular seed or bulb.

Flower Bulbs

Cool-season bulbs such as Daffodil (گل نرگس) and Paperwhite are planted as temperatures become milder. Their flowers add colour and fragrance to winter and early spring pots.

Tuberose (گل شبّو) grows during warm weather and produces tall, fragrant flower spikes. Rain Lilies create compact clumps for pot edges and garden borders, while Spider Lilies and Crinum Lilies develop larger leaves and distinctive flowers.

Amaryllis produces a strong flower stalk with large blooms and works well as a feature plant in a pot. African Hosta and other seasonal bulb plants add different foliage and flower forms to shaded or partly shaded areas.

Bulb size and growth habit determine planting depth and spacing. The product page provides instructions suited to the selected variety.

Starting Seeds

Fine flower and herb seeds are easier to manage in a seedling tray filled with a light seed-starting mixture. Tomato, brinjal, chilli, capsicum and many flower varieties can also be started in trays before transplanting.

Carrot, radish, turnip, coriander, peas, beans, gourds, okra and other medium or large seeds can be sown directly in their final containers or beds. Direct sowing gives developing roots and vigorous seedlings room to establish in one position.

Use a loose potting mix that holds enough moisture for germination while allowing excess water to drain. Keep the surface lightly moist and move emerging seedlings into bright light.

Root space becomes more important as plants grow. Compact herbs and flowers fit small pots, while tomatoes, brinjals, chillies, gourds, fruit plants and vigorous vines benefit from larger grow bags.

Garden Planning

A mixed home garden can combine quick-growing leaves with vegetables and flowers that need more time. Coriander, fenugreek, spinach and radish provide earlier harvests while tomatoes, chillies, gourds and flowering plants continue developing.

Place climbing beans, gourds, cucumbers, Morning Glory or Butterfly Pea beside a trellis. Their upward growth leaves more ground or container space for shorter plants.

Seasonal flowers can be placed between vegetable containers to add colour and attract visiting pollinators. Compact varieties suit the front of a bed, while Sunflowers, tall Zinnias and climbing flowers add height behind them.

FAQs

Which seeds are suitable for a beginner?

Radish, fenugreek, coriander, okra, beans, Sunflower and Zinnia are approachable choices when planted during their preferred season. Starting with two or three varieties makes watering and daily care easier to manage.

Why do seed quantities differ between packets?

Large seeds such as peas, beans, gourds and Sunflowers take more packet space, while fine seeds such as basil, celery, Portulaca and Petunia allow a higher seed count. Imported, hybrid and less common varieties may also be supplied in smaller quantities.

How should unused seeds be stored?

Close the packet securely and place it in a cool, dry and dark location. An airtight container protects seeds from humidity, insects and frequent temperature changes. Label opened packets with the month and year for easier planning.

Can flower bulbs bloom again?

Many established bulbs can flower in another season when their leaves receive time to grow after flowering. The leaves rebuild stored energy before they naturally yellow. Future flowering depends on the bulb variety, local climate and care.

What happens if the planting season has passed?

Store the packet in a cool and dry place for the next suitable sowing window. Some warm-season varieties also have a second planting period during late summer, while Karachi and other mild areas may offer longer seasonal windows.

Do all seeds germinate at the same speed?

Germination time differs by plant. Radish and many leafy vegetables can emerge quickly, while parsley, celery, tree seeds and some perennial flowers may need more time. Temperature, moisture and seed coat thickness also affect the pace.
