Each bloom has broad petals around a yellow centre, while the soft, feathery foliage keeps the tall plants looking light rather than heavy. Native to Mexico, Cosmos Sensation is a tall annual that grows quickly during mild to warm weather. In Pakistan, plants started during the cooler planting months usually flower from late winter into spring before extreme heat shortens the display. How to Sow

Cosmos Sensation is easiest to sow directly in its final pot or flower bed.

1. Fill the final pot or prepare the bed with fine, moist potting mix.
2. Make shallow rows around ¼ inch deep.
3. Sow the seeds thinly along the prepared rows.
4. Cover them lightly and water using a fine spray.
5. Keep the upper layer lightly moist until seedlings appear.
6. Thin after 2–3 true leaves develop, leaving 12–18 inches between plants.

Plant Care

Water regularly while the young plants become established. After that, water deeply when the upper layer of the mix begins to dry. Avoid frequent watering or soggy soil because both can produce weak growth and fewer flowers.

Mix only a small amount of Vermicompost into the soil before sowing. Cosmos usually flowers well without regular feeding. Too much fertilizer can produce tall, leafy plants with fewer buds.

Cosmos generally has few pest problems. If aphids or spider mites appear, spray Neem Oil on the affected leaves and stems in the evening, avoiding open flowers.
