Talstar 10% EC is a broad-spectrum insecticide and miticide containing Bifenthrin 10% EC, commonly used in home gardens to control whiteflies, aphids, thrips, jassids, mites, caterpillars and mealybugs.

It works through contact and ingestion, controlling pests that touch or feed on treated surfaces. Belonging to IRAC Group 3A, Talstar is suitable for treating active pest outbreaks on vegetables, fruit plants, flowers and outdoor ornamentals.

How to Use

For Whiteflies, Aphids, Thrips, Jassids and Caterpillars

• Mix 0.25 to 0.3ml in 1 litre of water
• For 5 litres of water, use 1.25 to 1.5ml
• Spray both sides of affected leaves
• Apply light, even coverage without excessive dripping

For Mites and Spider Mites

• Mix 1 to 1.25ml in 1 litre of water
• For 5 litres of water, use 5 to 6.25ml
• Concentrate on leaf undersides and areas showing fine webbing
• Apply evenly across the affected plant

Measure Talstar with a small syringe because the required quantity is too small to estimate accurately using the bottle cap.

Add the measured concentrate to a small amount of water and mix well. Add the remaining water, mix again and use the prepared solution the same day.

Application Frequency

Apply when pests are present. Inspect the plant after treatment and repeat only if pests return and the product label permits another application.

Avoid using Talstar repeatedly for every infestation. Alternating with a suitable product from a different insecticide group can help prevent pest resistance.

Harvest Interval

For edible plants, follow the harvest interval printed on the bottle for the particular vegetable or fruit plant being treated.

Wash harvested vegetables and fruit thoroughly before use.

How can I accurately measure less than 1ml?

Use a clean 1ml syringe marked in small divisions. Do not use a kitchen spoon or estimate the quantity with the bottle cap.

Should I spray the entire garden if pests are present on only one plant?

Treat the affected plant and inspect nearby plants carefully. Spraying unaffected plants unnecessarily increases insecticide use without improving control.

Will damaged or curled leaves recover after spraying?

Leaves already damaged by thrips, whiteflies or mites may remain curled, spotted or discoloured. Look for reduced pest activity and healthier new growth after treatment.

Can Talstar be mixed with neem oil or insecticidal soap?

Apply them separately unless both product labels specifically confirm compatibility. Combining concentrates can damage sensitive leaves.

Can it be sprayed on plants inside the home?

Do not spray Talstar inside living areas. Move the plant outdoors for treatment and return it after the leaves have dried completely.
