Tagetes Yellow F1 Hybrid produces large, full flower heads in a clear yellow shade. The rounded blooms rise above finely divided, aromatic green leaves and create a bold display in pots, sunny borders and grouped planting. The flowers can also be cut for vases, garlands and seasonal decoration.

In Lahore, Faisalabad, Islamabad and Rawalpindi, sow from September to October, or again from late February to March after the coldest weather has passed. In hotter areas such as Karachi and southern Punjab, sow from October to December once severe heat and heavy monsoon rain have eased. In colder northern and hilly areas, sow from March to May after the risk of frost has passed.
How to Sow
Tagetes can be started in a seed tray or small pots before transplanting.
- Fill the tray or pots with fine, moist seed starter mix.
- Sow the seeds thinly and cover them with around ⅛ inch of the mix.
- Water gently using a fine spray and keep at around 22–24°C.
- Provide bright light after the seedlings appear and keep the mix lightly moist.
- Transplant when the seedlings have 2–3 true leaves, leaving 10–14 inches between plants.
Plant Care
Water regularly while the plants are young. Once established, water when the upper soil begins to dry. Never leave pots standing in water, and water near the soil so the dense flower heads do not remain wet overnight.
Pinching is optional. If a young plant grows strongly upright, pinch its growing tip when it is around 6–8 inches tall to encourage more branches. Naturally compact F1 plants may require little shaping.
Mix a small amount of Vermicompost into the final potting mix. Avoid heavy feeding because too much nitrogen can produce excessive leaves with fewer flowers. If aphids, thrips or spider mites appear, apply Neem Oil to the affected leaves, including their undersides, while avoiding open flowers.
