Sunflower Ice Cream produces creamy flowers with dark centres on tall, branching stems. The named variety usually reaches around 5–7 feet in favourable conditions, making it suitable for sunny beds and spacious, stable containers. Allow room for its branches and provide support in exposed or windy positions.

How to Sow

1. Choose a sunny site with well-draining soil after the risk of frost has passed.
2. Sow seeds around ½ inch deep and cover with fine soil.
3. Keep the soil lightly moist until seedlings appear, usually within 7–14 days at around 16–24°C.
4. Thin young plants to around 16 inches apart and give them at least 6 hours of direct sunlight.
