How to Sow

Start Statice in a seedling tray or small pots. The seeds need some light for germination and should remain close to the surface.

1. Fill the tray or pots with fine, moist seed starter mix.
2. Sow the seeds thinly and evenly over the surface.
3. Press them gently and cover with only a fine dusting of the mix.
4. Water the surface gently using a fine spray.
5. Keep the tray in a bright location with the mix lightly moist.
6. Transplant after 3–4 true leaves appear, leaving 8–12 inches between plants.

Plant Care

Water when the upper layer of the mix begins to dry. Keep seedlings evenly moist while they become established, but never leave the roots waterlogged. Mature plants can handle short dry periods better than constantly wet soil.

Mix a small amount of Vermicompost into the final soil before transplanting. Avoid heavy feeding because it can produce excessive leaves and weak flower stems. If aphids gather around tender growth, spray Neem Oil on the affected leaves and stems, avoiding open flowers.
