Sowing Sponge Gourd

Choose a sunny position with loose, fertile, well-drained soil. Sow seeds about 1 inch deep after the soil warms to around 21–27°C. Space plants 3–5 feet apart.

Sponge gourd grows as a vine, so provide a trellis, net, or strong support for better growth, cleaner fruits, and easier harvesting. Keep the soil evenly moist during vine growth, flowering, and fruit setting, and harvest the gourds while they are young, tender, and green.
