Use enough powder to make direct contact with the roots. Adding more powder away from the root area does not improve inoculation.
How to Use
Transplanting
- Place RootMax in the planting hole.
- Position the root ball directly over the powder.
- Make sure some powder touches the exposed roots.
- Fill the surrounding space with soil or potting medium.
- Water thoroughly after planting.
Seeds and Bulbs
Place the powder in the planting hole and cover it with a thin layer of soil. Sow the seed or position the bulb at its normal depth, then water gently.
Cuttings
Dip the freshly cut end lightly into RootMax before placing it in a moist propagation medium.
Existing Plants
For an established potted plant, make several narrow holes around the outer root area. Place a small amount of RootMax into each hole, close them with potting medium and water thoroughly.
Applying the powder only over the surface is less effective because the fungi need contact with living roots.
Compatibility
RootMax can be used with compost, vermicompost and natural fertilizers.
Avoid applying a systemic or soil fungicide around the root area at the same time, as it can affect the beneficial fungi. Leave approximately four weeks between RootMax application and a soil fungicide treatment.
Storage
Keep the pouch tightly closed in a cool, dark and dry place between 5°C and 25°C. Do not refrigerate or freeze it.
During hot weather in Pakistan, do not store the pack inside a vehicle, metal shed or exposed rooftop area.
FAQs
Is RootMax the same as rooting hormone powder?
No. Rooting hormones encourage cuttings to begin forming roots. RootMax contains living beneficial fungi that colonize roots after they are present. The two products work differently.
Does RootMax need to be applied every month?
Normally, one direct root application is made during planting or repotting. Reapplication may be useful after moving the plant again, replacing most of its potting medium or using a soil fungicide.
Can it be used for cabbage, cauliflower, radish or mustard?
These plants belong to groups that generally do not form a mycorrhizal partnership. RootMax is more useful for tomatoes, chillies, fruit plants, flowers, herbs and many common indoor plants.
Why does the powder not dissolve completely in water?
RootMax is an insoluble powder intended for direct soil and root application. It does not need to dissolve like a water-soluble fertilizer.
How quickly will results become visible?
Mycorrhizal fungi must first establish around the roots. Improvement appears through later root development, establishment and new growth rather than an immediate change after application.
