In Lahore, Faisalabad, Islamabad and Rawalpindi, sow from September to November, or again from late January to February. In hotter areas such as Karachi and southern Punjab, sow from October to January after the strongest summer heat has eased. In colder northern and hilly areas, sow from March to April after the risk of hard frost has passed.
How to Sow
Start Nemesia Carnival Mix in a seedling tray or small pots.
- Fill the container with fine, moist seed starter mix.
- Scatter the tiny seeds thinly and evenly over the surface.
- Press them gently against the mix without covering them.
- Mist carefully and keep the container bright, cool and lightly moist.
- Transplant after 3–4 true leaves appear, leaving 6–8 inches between plants.
Plant Care
Water when the surface of the soil begins to dry. Nemesia has fine roots and performs best with steady moisture, but waterlogged soil can damage the roots. Water near the base early in the day and avoid allowing young plants to dry completely.
Mix a small amount of Vermicompost into the final soil before transplanting. Once buds begin forming, occasional diluted Flower Fertilizer can help container-grown plants. If aphids gather around the tender shoots, apply Neem Oil, avoiding open flowers.
