It grows well in warm weather, prefers full sunlight, and is suitable for 12-16 inch pots, grow bags, raised beds, and kitchen gardens with support from a stake or cage.

Originally from Florence, Italy, this classic Italian heirloom became popular for its decorative ribbed shape, juicy texture, and excellent use in salads, sandwiches, sauces, and fresh cooking.
